Mill Cottage is located in the heart of the Lake District, amongst high mountains close to Patterdale, Glenridding and Ullswater. This recently developed 2-bedroom (3-person) self catering holiday cottage is well placed for walking many Wainwright peaks, exploring the Lakeland valleys, and engaging in water sports. Mill Cottage provides spacious, comfortable and well-equipped accommodation of a high standard in an old Grade II listed building, in which exposed beams, pitched rafters and wooden floors feature prominently. With a beckside location in outstanding countryside, the cottage has the main living rooms on the first floor to take full advantage of the extensive and magnificent views.
The south-facing patio, overlooking open countryside towards Brotherswater and Dovedale, is in a lovely sunny and sheltered position, an ideal location for those refreshing drinks after a day on the fells. The sound of running water from the beck, and the seclusion of the garden encourage relaxation and the on-set of holiday-mode.
Location
Hartsop is a picturesque hamlet noted for its numerous historical buildings and stunning scenery. Surrounded by high Wainwright peaks at the bottom of the Kirkstone Pass, it is an ideal base for lovers of mountain scenery, and especially for walkers of all abilities.
Helvellyn, Fairfield, High Street, and the spectacular scenery of the Ullswater area are all part of the local landscape. Close to the A592, Mill Cottage is a good base for exploring the wider Lake District. Visitors have access to numerous local pubs, hotels, and shops in Patterdale and Glenridding. Further, the popular towns of Ambleside and Windermere are only a short drive away.
